Node Tools for Visual Studio
I’ve been contributing to Microsoft’s OSS Node Tools for Visual Studio (NTVS) project since October 2013. NTVS provides developers with a full-featured Node.js development environment, including intellisense, debugging, profiling, and npm integration, within Visual Studio 2012 and 2013.
I’ve specifically been working on the npm support. You can see a demo of this, as it looked in the first public Alpha release at the end of November last year, in this video.
The NTVS team have also now put out their first dev build, which includes some enhancements to the npm support, which you can find out about here. If you really want the gory details, you can check out the history.
Over the coming months I’ll be making a lot more improvements to the npm support and will keep you posted as these become available.
